Art I Liked: Nice & Monaco

Here are a few pictures of art I liked that I saw when I visited Nice and Monaco this past weekend.

I really like Place Massena which is a grand plaza in Nice.  The artwork installation in this plaza is cool modern statuary  that, to me at least, are both classic and contemporary. These are actually plastic and at night they light up from the inside and change colors. I love these:

The statues were created by a Spanish artist, Jaume Plensa who primarily works in public sculptures.  Jaume has lived all over the world and taught fine arts in Paris. This sculpture is entitled “Conversations at Nice” and it was installed in 2007.

Additionally, I saw these cool paintings in the cathedral of Monaco which is near the palace and that holds Princess Grace’s (and other Monaco Royal) remains.  I tried to figure out who the artist is but was unsuccessful:

Does anyone know who this artist is?

Trying to keep these brief so I’ll end there.  Thanks for reading!
